The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is responsible for leading the marketing strategy and execution for Diode Dynamics along with its Form Lighting brand, accelerating growth in the enthusiast automotive aftermarket lighting sector while building on our established “Diode Difference” identity: made-in-USA quality, new technology, superior performance, and an enthusiast focus.
This role emphasizes high-quality output across content, digital channels, ecommerce, product launches, events, and partnerships, building on our established brand image to create high consumer engagement. The CMO will empower and scale the marketing team through strong delegation, clear accountability, and systems that support weekly product releases and measurable ROI. This position reports directly to the CEO and collaborates closely with Sales and Engineering in our energetic, enthusiast-minded, and data-driven culture. The role is onsite, based at our headquarters at 3870 Millstone Parkway, St. Charles, MO 63301.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that drive revenue growth, brand authority, and customer acquisition across Diode Dynamics and Form Lighting
- Oversee branding, promotions, events (including SEMA Show and annual open house), sponsorships (race teams, ambassadors), and partnerships while preserving our core USA-assembled, performance-first identity.
- Lead ecommerce optimization, digital marketing (SEO, paid search, email, social), and customer experience initiatives to increase online conversions and repeat purchases.
- Direct high-volume content generation including technical install guides, product videos, beam-pattern comparisons, blog content, and user-generated campaigns to educate enthusiasts and support frequent new product releases (often weekly).
- Strategize, organize, and execute consistent product launches in close partnership with Engineering and Sales, ensuring technically accurate messaging that highlights innovation in LED performance, vehicle-specific fitment, and emerging trends.
- Build, coach, and scale a high-performing marketing team by delegating effectively, implementing clear processes and accountability systems, and maintaining high standards of quality and output volume in a fast-paced aftermarket environment.
- Lead the adoption and integration of AI tools and technologies across marketing functions, including generative AI for content creation, prompt engineering workflows, SEO/AEO/GEO, predictive analytics for campaign optimization, personalization engines, and marketing automation to scale efficiency, support weekly launches, and deliver measurable ROI while maintaining technical accuracy and brand voice.
- Analyze marketing performance metrics (ROI, traffic, conversion rates, engagement, event/sponsorship ROI) and use AI-driven insights to continuously optimize campaigns and resource allocation.
- Manage the marketing budget efficiently while identifying opportunities to scale ambassador programs, influencer collaborations, and community engagement within the automotive enthusiast space.
- Serve as the technical marketing bridge between Engineering and customers, translating complex LED specifications, optical performance data, and regulatory compliance into compelling, accessible content.
- As a member of the executive leadership team, contribute to long-term vision and strategy planning to support overall company growth.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of marketing experience, with at least 4–5 years in a senior leadership role (Marketing Director, VP Marketing, or equivalent) in the automotive aftermarket, electronics, technical consumer goods, or manufacturing industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field required; MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
- Demonstrated aptitude and ability to understand and communicate automotive performance standards and technical data.
- Proven success leading high-volume content marketing, SEO, ecommerce growth, digital advertising, product launches, events, and sponsorship programs with measurable results.
- Strong track record of building scalable marketing systems, delegating effectively, and developing teams to deliver consistent, high-quality output in fast-paced environments.
- Experience with marketing analytics platforms, CRM/ERP tools, ecommerce systems, and content management workflows.
- Forward-looking experience with AI enablement and utilization in marketing, including generative AI tools for content scaling, prompt engineering workflows, AI-driven analytics and predictive modeling, marketing automation/agents, and AI stack integration to drive efficiency and innovation.
- Passion for the automotive enthusiast community and aftermarket industry, with a collaborative, execution-focused mindset that aligns with our energetic, made-in-USA culture.
- On-site attendance required; this position is not remote. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4 pm, with flexibility in specific working hours.
- Ability to travel for events and trade shows, ~20 days per year.
