Job Description

As the Production Supervisor at Diode Dynamics, you will be responsible for creating value for Diode Dynamics and its customers by providing leadership, direction, technical oversight, training, and direct observation of the organization. 

Production Operations

  • Oversee production output; allocate resources and manpower across work centers
  • Plan and schedule resources with Production Manager/Planning
  • Forecast production needs; ensure readiness of operations and work instructions
  • Provide hands-on support to maintain production schedules as needed
  • Support new product introductions with Production Engineering in pilot runs for SMT, IMM, and Lamps
  • Maintain accurate cycle times for effective planning
  • Support in engineering trial runs on Wednesdays in SMT

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Enforce quality standards and company policies; partner with Production Manager/Quality Manager
  • Conduct Gemba walks; document and drive for continuous improvements
  • Inspecting finished parts for defects and ensuring conformance to specifications for Injection Molding Machine.
  • Create reworks/repairs for SMT refurbishment demands

Team Leadership & Development

  • Train, coach, and develop staff to maintain high performance standards
  • Manage personnel training and conduct performance reviews
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous learning by implementing continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Track technician productivity, timekeeping, and attendance issues

Safety & Workplace Standards

  • Enforce safety standards and company policies
  • Maintain organized, clean production areas (5S, cleaning schedules)
  • Perform daily floor checks for safety and operational compliance at the end of each shift
  • Complete Daily Cleaning Checklist for Dust Free Area
  • Ensure all of SMT machinery is off: Screen printer, Chipshooter, Oven, and baking oven 
  • Clean floor mats in SMT and entry to Dust free are replaced and maintained weekly 
  • Ensure maintenance cleaning routine of equipment in SMT is completed every Friday
  • Complete preventative cleaning maintenance for Injection Molding Machine daily.

Inventory & Materials Management

  • Ensure material availability and support inventory control processes
  • Replenish components and parts for SMT room
  • Assist Production Manager with purchasing of production supplies and materials for SMT and Lamps

Performance & Process Management

  • Monitor KPIs; implement corrective actions to meet targets
  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks; maintain workflow continuity
  • Analyze manufacturing orders to improve efficiency and flow

Technical & Production Support

  • Oversee assembly of LED lamps and electrical components
  • Support soldering, crimping, and wire harness assembly processes
  • Ensure proper use and training on all production equipment

Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in electronics or technical assembly.
  • 1–3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience, including coaching, training, and managing team performance.
  • Strong understanding of production workflows, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Experience working with quality standards and manufacturing processes, including audits, inspections, and adherence to documented procedures.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience managing KPIs or production metrics such as output, efficiency, scrap, or quality.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on the production floor for extended periods.
