Making Disclosures

Whenever you represent a brand or company online, it is important to tell your audience that a relationship exists. Legally, this is called "disclosure in advertising," and there are very specific requirements that you must follow.

Any time you make a post about Diode Dynamics, FORM Lighting, or our products—whether it's a social media post, video, forum post, or other content—you must make a disclosure. There are several ways you can accomplish this, and we encourage you to use the method that works best for you. Some options include:

  • Tag your post with #DiodeAmbassador or #FormAmbassador
  • Tag your post with #Ad or #Advertisement
  • State that "I'm a Diode/FORM Ambassador" or "I've partnered with Diode Dynamics/FORM Lighting."
  • State that you have an "affiliate link" or "partnership link" on your post.

Disclosures should always be clear, concise, and presented as close as possible to the advertisement. In a video, you should include a disclosure at the beginning.

This disclosure not only fulfills legal requirements, but builds trust with your audience, and is required of all online brand ambassadors, influencers, etc, no matter the brand.
