Illumination (lux)

What is it?

• How much light is hitting a specific point in the distance. 
• This is a simple calculation based on distance and intensity (candela). 
• You can use a simple calculator to find lux, if you know candela:

• Lux should always be reported with a distance value (for example, 25 lux at 100 feet). Otherwise, it is meaningless.
  

How do we use it at Diode?

• We report it alongside candela, just as another point of information. However, it’s not too useful for informed consumers, since you can always calculate it from the candela value.
