Measured Lumens (Full Assembly)

What is it?

  • A measurement of the total lumens, with the fully assembled product in an integrating sphere.
  • The most accurate descriptor of lumens from a light source.

How do we use it at Diode?

  • We publish Measured Lumens for LED bulbs and non-direct sources (rocklights).
  • We cannot measure offroad lights, headlights, fog lights, etc in this way because they are focused, shining light in specific directions. This makes it impossible to integrate the light in the sphere and collect a measurement in this way.
  • For this reason, we do not publish measured lumen values for offroad lights, lamps, and directed light sources.

Measured Lumens (PCB/Partial)

What is it?

  • A measurement of the total lumens, with a partially assembled product or circuit board only.

How do we use it at Diode?

  • Engineering takes these measurements for research purposes – to validate expectations about how much light comes from the circuit board.
  • Historically, we have published this data, but it is not valuable to customers to have a lumen value on a partially-assembled product. As a result, this is NOT a valid measurement to provide to customers.
  • We do not intend to publish this data moving forward (as of 2023)
