Gradient
- Gradient is the sharpness of a cutoff line, or the break between light and dark in the pattern.
- Gradient is technically defined mathematically, with a logarithmic function to assess how "fast" the light goes from bright to dark.
- A light that has a "soft" fall-off or cutoff would have a low gradient. A light that has a "sharp" cutoff has a high gradient.
- Fog lights must have a gradient of 0.08. The Elite Series fog reaches 0.50 (extremely sharp).
